1.1 Traditional Taxidermy: Traditionally, taxidermy pieces are not meant to be handled frequently. They are primarily decorative and should be treated with care to preserve their condition.

1.2 Functional Items: Some items from PelageStudio are labeled as "functional." This designation does not imply that these items are intended to be utilised for their labeled purpose. For example, a taxidermy piece labeled as a "lamp" should be seen primarily as a decorative item, not as a functional lighting device.

1.3 Wear and Tear: Gradual signs of wear and tear are to be expected over time, especially with handling. 

2.1 No Refunds/Returns After Use: PelageStudio does not accept returns or provide refunds once an item has been used. Use includes any form of handling beyond initial inspection upon receipt. We strongly encourage customers to thoroughly inspect their purchases upon delivery.

2.2 Initial Inspection: Upon receiving your taxidermy item, please inspect it immediately. If there are any issues or defects present at the time of delivery, you must contact us within 7 days of receipt, 14 days for international orders, to discuss potential resolutions. PelageStudio reserves the right to deny refund claims if signs of wear and tear are evident or products have been altered or tampered with. All products are thoroughly inspected before shipping and crafted to meet our high standards.

2.3 Non-Returnable Items: Custom orders, sale items, and any taxidermy products that have been altered or customised at the buyer’s request are non-returnable.

3.1 Proper Care: To maintain the condition of your taxidermy piece, keep it in a stable environment with controlled temperature and humidity. Avoid direct sunlight, excessive moisture, and handling to prevent damage.

3.2 Cleaning: Clean your taxidermy items gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water, cleaning agents, or abrasive materials, as these can cause damage.

4.1 Limitation of Liability: PelageStudio is not liable for any damage resulting from the misuse or mishandling of our taxidermy items. By purchasing our products, you accept full responsibility for their care and maintenance.

4.2 Functional Misinterpretation: PelageStudio is not responsible for any damage or injury resulting from the misinterpretation of the "functional" label on certain items. These items are primarily for decorative purposes only.

5.1 Initial Inspection: Every animal received as a commission will be thoroughly inspected prior to being worked on. The client will be notified of any damages or issues that may impact the result of the finished product.

5.2 Breakdown and Quality Issues: Clients may not be aware of the condition of the animal prior to bringing it in. Certain issues, such as the start of decomposition, often only become evident after defrosting. The breakdown of an animal, may impact feather or fur retention and cause slippage. This is not the fault of PelageStudio and is completely unpreventable.

5.3 Final Pose Determination: The client must understand that the desired final pose of the taxidermied animal may not be achievable if there is damage. In such cases, PelageStudio will select the most appropriate pose for the animal. The client will be notified if this adjustment is necessary.

5.4 Client Acknowledgement: By commissioning work from PelageStudio, the client acknowledges and accepts the risks associated with the condition of the animal and the potential impacts on the final product. PelageStudio will not be held responsible for any such issues arising from the pre-existing condition of the animal.

5.5 Ownership: The commissioned item remains the property of PelageStudio until it is paid for in full and will be delivered or picked up once final payment has been made.

5.6 Deposits: Depending on the price of the commissioned piece, deposits may be required. The deposit cost will be determined by PelageStudio.

5.7 Client Satisfaction: If the client is unhappy with the piece, PelageStudio will work with the client to address any concerns within reason. However, due to the unique and custom nature of taxidermy work, refunds will not be issued for commissioned items. Alternatively, the client has the option to surrender the taxidermy piece to be sold onward and will receive a commission payment once it has been sold.

6.1 Acceptance of Terms: By purchasing from PelageStudio, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.

6.2 Amendments: PelageStudio reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any changes through our website or via email.
